COURAGE: THE NEXT STEP

"You cannot walk into newness if you continue to judge it by what you already know.  Additionally, you cannot judge what I can do through you by what you know that you can or cannot do. You have no idea what it is like to have unfettered access to My power—but you will."

This is no time to retreat!  It's time to access the true courage that only Christ can give!  "Courage: The Next Step," offers answers.

Prophetic Lesson on Courage (The Next Step)
9-22-2011
Janet Mushegan Watson

Proverbs 28:1; Proverbs 12:25; Isaiah 41:10-11;
Matthew 28: 18-20; Isaiah 32:9-11; Jeremiah 47:3; Luke 12:4-7

  The courage you seek comes as a result of total dependence upon the I Am.  (Psalm 91:9-12; Deuteronomy 31:6-8) In believing what I have said you walk into a new reality where I Am in control in an unfallen sphere. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18; Galatians 5:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:7) You find this hard to understand because you analyze everything in terms of what you already know—those familiar things.  But a time is at hand in which all things will be reordered to conform to My Word in you.  You cannot walk into newness if you continue to judge it by what you already know.  (Isaiah 55:8-11) Additionally, you cannot judge what I can do through you by what you know that you can or cannot do. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10; Psalm 18:29-36)  You have no idea what it is like to have unfettered access to My power—but you will.  There is no substitute for total submission to Me in terms of seeing My power operated through you.  Only submission allows you to set aside all that you think you know to see My work through you. (1 Peter 5:6-9) You cannot live a double life where you leave portions of your behavior unsubmitted.  You try to make this right by determining what is of a spiritual nature and what is not; what is connected to your ability to channel My power and what is not.  But I tell you, there is no such distinction.  You are either all Mine or you are not Mine.  I will not share My glory with another has meaning in your relationship with Me. (Isaiah 42:8; Ezra 9:1-4)

You try to muster courage as being able to overlook what you "know to be true."  This will never work.  Courage comes out of your knowing the Truth that only comes from an eternal perspective. (1 Corinthians 2:9-14) I know that you struggle to overlook all that seemingly contradicts what I have said.  But as you submit to Me you will find that these doubts fade and disappear as you are enraptured with My Spirit.  You are at a critical point in your development when you come to the place where you do not see the next step. Until now you had an idea of what the process looked like.  Even when you knew you were not there, yet you knew what it would look like if you were.  But I tell you that this step has no comparison and no connection with what you have experienced.  Now these things have been preparatory but you are coming to that point where everything must be left that you think you know.  Every expectation must be submitted; every longing must be abandoned.  When you want nothing more than to walk in obedience to Me it will happen.  You do not have to see where you are going.  I Am the way. (John 14:1-6) Hold to Me with your heart and I will not let you go.  The only preparation at this point is submission.  You will go where you never thought possible and you will do what you were sent to do.

Scriptures for Prophetic Lesson on Courage

(The Next Step)

Proverbs 28:1

The wicked flee when no one pursues,

But the righteous are bold as a lion.  NKJV

Proverbs 12:25

25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.  AMP

Isaiah 41:10-11

10 Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

11 "Behold, all those who were incensed against you

Shall be ashamed and disgraced;

They shall be as nothing,

And those who strive with you shall perish. NKJV

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." NKJV

Isaiah 32:9-11

9 Rise up, you women who are at ease! Hear my [Isaiah's] voice, you confident and careless daughters! Listen to what I am saying!

10 In little more than a year you will be shaken with anxiety, you careless and complacent women; for the vintage will fail, and the ingathering will not come. 11 Tremble, you women who are at ease! Shudder with fear, you complacent ones! Strip yourselves bare and gird sackcloth upon your loins [in grief]!  AMP

Jeremiah 47:3

3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of [the Chaldean king's] war-horses, at the rattling of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers do not look back to their children, so feeble are their hands [with terror]  AMP

Luke 12:4-7

"And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.  5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! 6 "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.  7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. NKJV

Psalms 91:9-12

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,

Even the Most High, your dwelling place,

10 No evil shall befall you,

Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,

To keep you in all your ways.

12 In their hands they shall bear you up,

Lest you dash your foot against a stone. NKJV

Deuteronomy 31:6-8

6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." 7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." NKJV

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. NKJV

Galatians 5:16-18

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. NKJV

2 Corinthians 5:7

7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. NKJV

Isaiah 55:8-11

8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD.

9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower

And bread to the eater,

11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. NKJV

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

7 And to keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (preeminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted. 8 Three times I called upon the Lord and besought [Him] about this and begged that it might depart from me; 9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

10 So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength). AMP

Psalms 18:29-36

29 For by You I can run against a troop,

By my God I can leap over a wall.

30 As for God, His way is perfect;

The word of the LORD is proven;

He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

31 For who is God, except the LORD?

And who is a rock, except our God?

32 It is God who arms me with strength,

And makes my way perfect.

33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer,

And sets me on my high places.

34 He teaches my hands to make war,

So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation;

Your right hand has held me up,

Your gentleness has made me great.

36 You enlarged my path under me,

So my feet did not slip. NKJV

1 Peter 5:6-9

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. NKJV

James 4:7-9

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. NKJV

Isaiah 42:8

8 I am the LORD, that is My name;

And My glory I will not give to another,

Nor My praise to carved images. NKJV

Ezra 9:1-4

When these things were done, the leaders came to me, saying, "The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass." 3 So when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked out some of the hair of my head and beard, and sat down astonished. 4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice. NKJV

1 Corinthians 2:9-14

9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. NKJV

John 14:1-6

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.   3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  4 And where I go you know, and the way you know." 5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  NKJV
