ESCAPING THE TENTACLES OF APPROACHING EVIL
A Prophetic Warning

ESCAPING THE TENTACLES OF APPROACHING EVIL (Part 2)
The significance of the cross for the believer is grounded in the very nature of sacrificial interaction [living by the Spirit in a fallen world system].  [Matt 16:24-27; Rev 2:23 AMP]  Sacrifice references the starving of the "senses" with their evil desires.  [Romans 8:13-14 AMP; Col 3:5-10 AMP]  If you accept any portion of the carnal nature—you are giving vent to all of it.  [James 3:16 AMP; Heb 12:15-17 AMP; Eph 4:27 AMP] This explains why victims often become perpetrators themselves.  The deep hurt in the personal betrayal sets up a tendency toward grief/despair or anger/rage.  Either of these emotions—not dealt with in a way that rids you of them--makes them a door for the very evil that produced them.  [As it digs a hole—it plants a seed] Carnality is never working for the benefit of the individual but is rather reproducing itself through what ever means is available.  Its poison is administered unnoticed because the anesthetic is your own agenda.  [The fruit of the tree has the seed within it] You are so focused on your personal need for flesh satisfaction that you do not even notice what is being administered into your soul along with your self-administered remedy.  [James 3:13-18 NLT]  The means of control is in the remedy.  You must reject all that is not of my Spirit.  You have no idea how insidious this spirit of deception is and you have no idea the vast hunger it seeks to satisfy—yet without satiation. [1 Peter 5:8 AMP; Hab 2:4&5 NLT]  It (the spirit of deception)—given place in you--will produce this same insatiable desire.  You will destroy yourself as you seek to fill a hole that is only increased by your desperate futile attempts to eradicate the void. [It's like trying to get rid of a hole by digging it out]  Darkness is covering the earth—time is short to be able to see the truth.  [John 12:35 NLT; 2 Cor 6:14-17 NKJV; 1 Thess 5:1-11 NLT]  For those who are not controlled by my Spirit—there is no hope that they will escape the tentacles of the approaching evil. [2 Thess 2:7-12 TLB]  He is coming—he is already at work.  If you continue to operate by his power—he will come for what is his—of his spirit [John 14:30 AMP], just as I am coming for that which is of my Spirit.  I am warning you because many of you are weak and do not know what you are doing.  There are those who know—their plight is set.  You have a choice—take the way of escape while you still know that you need it.

"Escaping the Tentacles of Approaching Evil"

Matt 16:24-28

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.  NKJV

Rev 2:23

23 And I will strike her children (her proper followers) dead [thoroughly exterminating them]. And all the assemblies (churches) shall recognize and understand that I am He Who searches minds (the thoughts, feelings, and purposes) and the [inmost] hearts, and I will give to each of you [the reward for what you have done] as your work deserves. AMP

Rom 8:13-14

13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. AMP

Col 3:5-10

5 So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).

6 It is on account of these [very sins] that the [holy] anger of God is ever coming upon the sons of disobedience (those who are obstinately opposed to the divine will),

7 Among whom you also once walked, when you were living in and addicted to [such practices].

8 But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips!

9 Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices,

10 And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. AMP

James 3:16-18

16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).

18 And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].

AMP

Heb 12:15-17

15 Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God's grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it —

16 That no one may become guilty of sexual vice, or become a profane (godless and sacrilegious) person as Esau did, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. [Gen 25:29-34.]

17 For you understand that later on, when he wanted [to regain title to] his inheritance of the blessing, he was rejected (disqualified and set aside), for he could find no opportunity to repair by repentance [what he had done, no chance to recall the choice he had made], although he sought for it carefully with [bitter] tears. AMP

Eph 4:27

27 Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. AMP

James 3:13-18

13 If you are wise and understand God's ways, live a life of steady goodness so that only good deeds will pour forth. And if you don't brag about the good you do, then you will be truly wise! 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your hearts, don't brag about being wise. That is the worst kind of lie. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and motivated by the Devil. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every kind of evil. 17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness. NLT

1 Peter 5:8-9

8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset — rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same ( identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. AMP

Hab 2:4-6

4 "Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked; but the righteous will live by their faith.   5 Wealth is treacherous, and the arrogant are never at rest. They range far and wide, with their mouths opened as wide as death, but they are never satisfied. In their greed they have gathered up many nations and peoples. NLT

John 12:35-36

35 Jesus replied, "My light will shine out for you just a little while longer. Walk in it while you can, so you will not stumble when the darkness falls. If you walk in the darkness, you cannot see where you are going.  36 Believe in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light." After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them. NLT

2 Cor 6:14-7:1

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

"I will dwell in them

And walk among them.

I will be their God,

And they shall be My people."

17 Therefore

"Come out from among them

And be separate, says the Lord.

Do not touch what is unclean,

And I will receive you."

18'I will be a Father to you,

And you shall be My sons and daughters,

Says the LORD Almighty."  NKJV

1 Thess 5:1-9

I really don't need to write to you about how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters.   2 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. 3 When people are saying, "All is well; everything is peaceful and secure," then disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman's birth pains begin when her child is about to be born. And there will be no escape. 4 But you aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. 5 For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don't belong to darkness and night. 6 So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be sober. 7 Night is the time for sleep and the time when people get drunk. 8 But let us who live in the light think clearly, protected by the body armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. NLT

2 Thess 2:7-12

7 As for the work this man of rebellion and hell will do when he comes, it is already going on, but he himself will not come until the one who is holding him back steps out of the way. 8 Then this wicked one will appear, whom the Lord Jesus will burn up with the breath of his mouth and destroy by his presence when he returns. 9 This man of sin will come as Satan's tool, full of satanic power, and will trick everyone with strange demonstrations, and will do great miracles. 10 He will completely fool those who are on their way to hell because they have said no to the Truth; they have refused to believe it and love it and let it save them, 11 so God will allow them to believe lies with all their hearts, 12 and all of them will be justly judged for believing falsehood, refusing the Truth, and enjoying their sins. TLB

John 14:30

30 I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]  AMP
