Obedience to the Cross

A Prophetic Lesson

Obedience to the Cross Part 1 (31:36)
Obedience to the Cross Part 2 (27:55)

Only the cross can satisfy your inner longing.1,2,3,4,5,6  The cross settles the unfinished business of sin and a fallen creation.  "It is finished"7 references the total work of reconciliation and restoration.8,9,10,11,12,13,14  The Christ was openly displayed.  The work was not done in secret—open shame led to open access.15,16,17  Now—consider the tree from which the cross was hewn—it was a seed; it was planted; it grew and flourished—yet it was cut down that it might become another form—now used to support the Savior of the world.  You grow and flourish yet you must die (in terms of your carnal nature) in order to be usable for My glory.18  In dying to self (the former form) you are fashioned into a vessel of honor.19  Even shame is honor if done for the sake of obedience.  Trying to preserve your form is preventing you from your destiny (predetermined use).  You want to know the purpose so to understand the process.  And yet you cannot know until the process is complete.  In your patience you possess your soul.20  Trust me to form you into________________ (only the Lord knows the end-product).  You cling to what you know because you are afraid.  But you must trust me to restore your life.21,22  If you try to save your life (your familiar form); you will lose it (it will pass away and you will have lost the divine form).  Resist the devil—Submit to My Spirit.23  Open and shut—now you see.  (The reference is to a prophetic word received earlier in the week in which the Lord said, "You cannot perform My will partially—you look for the open door and yet stand with your foot in one that must be closed forever.)  You cannot have both.  It is either My way or your way."24

> Are you an enemy of the cross?  Consider the following scripture:

Philippians 3:18-21

18 For there are many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, who walk (live) as enemies of the cross of Christ (the Anointed One). 19 They are doomed and their fate is eternal misery (perdition); their god is their stomach (their appetites, their sensuality) and they glory in their shame, siding with earthly things and being of their party. 20 But we are citizens of the state (commonwealth, homeland) which is in heaven, and from it also we earnestly and patiently await [the coming of] the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [as] Savior, 21 Who will transform and fashion anew the body of our humiliation to conform to and be like the body of His glory and majesty, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself.

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
