Prophetic Lesson on Purpose
Janet Mushegan Watson

What keeps you from your purpose?  What hinders you from your calling?  Is it not failure to believe that what I have said is true?  I have promised you authority in this life and relationship with me in this life and the life to come.  Yet you look to those things that are passing away and you think that I do not know your pain, your need, and the longing of your soul.  I only can lead you into your purpose as you are led by My Spirit within you.

The world is contrary to My Spirit and hostile to My purposes.  But I have spoken and it will come to pass.  Time is short and the pressure of the ungodly against the Children of the Kingdom is great.  The enemy of your soul has tried to deceive you by closing the curtain of your experience against the light of My truth.  Only the revelation of the eternal will break the bonds produced by your past and present circumstances.  I am above what you see and am ready to let you see as I see.

Your reluctance to cast your care upon me keeps you serving two masters.  You will never be able to walk in My Spirit if you do not trust me.  Delusion makes you believe a lie: that all that you have believed is not true.  You must not hesitate to follow My voice even when the world around you is loud in your ear.  You have been warned of adversity and evil influence; of wars and darkness; of fear and despair.  But what you have not truly understood is that you will forget all that you have known or have been told because of the intense pressure so that you panic and think that there is no way out—no plan or purpose in all that you see.  This is the moment just before your purpose is manifested.  This is the most critical point in your existence.

What can you do?  Look to Me and be saved.  Trust Me without exception or reservation.  Hold My hand—I am here with you and My Spirit is in you.  You have had an idea of how things should look.  But only I know how to get you where you need to be.  This is the moment of truth.  This is the moment where you will go to the place of your offering or you will retreat into the world where My voice will no longer be heard.  Evil consummation is at hand but nothing is greater than My Word.  Stand on My Word and it will be your security and hope.  Confusion will be the undoing of many but you must not be led by it.

Scriptures for Prophetic Lesson on
“Purpose”

Mark 10:33
"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles; 34 and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again." NKJV

John 12:23-28
23 But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.  24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.  25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.  26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. 27 "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour.  28 Father, glorify Your name." NKJV

Luke 9:21-26
And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22 saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day." 23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.  24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.  25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?  26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels. NKJV

Luke 9:57-62
Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." 58 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."  59 Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father."  60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." 61 And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." 62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." NKJV

Acts 20:22-24
22 And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, 23 except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. 24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. NKJV

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. NLT

Job 42:1-6
THEN JOB said to the Lord,
2 I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted. 3[You said to me] Who is this that darkens and obscures counsel [by words] without knowledge? Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. 4[I had virtually said to You what You have said to me:] Hear, I beseech You, and I will speak; I will demand of You, and You declare to me. 5 I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You. 6 Therefore I loathe [my words] and abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes. AMP

Philippians 2:17-18
17 But even if my life is to be poured out like a drink offering to complete the sacrifice of your faithful service (that is, if I am to die for you), I will rejoice, and I want to share my joy with all of you. 18 And you should be happy about this and rejoice with me. NLT

Philippians 1:15-21
15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. 19 For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. NKJV

Galatians 5:7-10
7 You were getting along so well. Who has interfered with you to hold you back from following the truth? 8 It certainly isn't God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. 9 But it takes only one wrong person among you to infect all the others — a little yeast spreads quickly through the whole batch of dough! 10 I am trusting the Lord to bring you back to believing as I do about these things. God will judge that person, whoever it is, who has been troubling and confusing you. NLT

Ezra 4:4-5
4 Then [the Samaritans] the people of the land [continually] weakened the hands of the people of Judah and troubled and terrified them in building 5 And hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose and plans all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius [II] king of Persia. AMP

2 Timothy 3:10-14
10 But you know what I teach, Timothy, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith and how long I have suffered. You know my love and my patient endurance. 11 You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra — but the Lord delivered me from all of it. 12 Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will go on deceiving others, and they themselves will be deceived.
14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. NLT

1 Peter 4:1-7
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you are willing to suffer for Christ, you have decided to stop sinning. 2 And you won't spend the rest of your life chasing after evil desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. 3 You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy — their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.
4 Of course, your former friends are very surprised when you no longer join them in the wicked things they do, and they say evil things about you. 5 But just remember that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead. 6 That is why the Good News was preached even to those who have died — so that although their bodies were punished with death, they could still live in the spirit as God does. 7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. NLT

1 Peter 4:10
10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. NIV

Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. AMP

2 Timothy 4:5-10
5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you. 6 As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 8 And now the prize awaits me — the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his glorious return. 9 Please come as soon as you can. 10 Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. NLT
